I don’t know any way to change this, so I guess you should get used to saving before maps with such a trick. Anyway, most of these save so much time I think it’s worth the trouble.
Out of curiosity, how would you go about doing a segmented run on a map which has one of these skips? If you fail a segment you’d have to go back to the previous map, which would most likely end up with you coming in to the segment next time with different speed (possibly ammo and hp, too).
I’m pretty sure they have to do the first part of the map (before the skip) in only one segment. You’d have to cut before the level transition, and somehow get past the skip before segmenting again. In We’ve got hostiles, this is no problem since the skip is right after the start. It’s a lot harder for the infinite health door since the last transition is in the tunnel with a mounted gun. It just makes things harder ^^
Might be an noob question, but in latest NGHL version (running in crappy W8), the fps is stuck @ 60fps, even dev_1, even fps_max +60, even nvidia’s settings has the refresh rate to false…
vsync?
yeah, disable Vertical Sync
Guys, i’m totally retarded.
“even nvidia’s settings has the refresh rate to false…”
I meant to say Vertical Sync, LOL!
Fixed it by uninstalling crappy Win8 and installing Windows 7.
Offtopic, but I’m not gonna agree with you on that one.

Do you guys get compatibility issues between demos recorded in NGHL and Steam Half Life, or did you disable updates for steam?
If you’re using viewdemo, some weapon animations can be lost after the conversion. Doesn’t happen with playdemo (which works without any conversions).
2 New questions:
1 - I noticed in the HL21 previews/trailers that they had different looking weapons than my NGHL client? How do I get those because the ones I have are butt ugly.
2 - Not really tech support but, Why am I able to get the large crates, in the pit that you obbo over in c1a1c, to climb up the wall and defy mostly all laws of physics? Would add a photo but, I don’t know how, found the button but i don’t know what to put in between {img}{/img} and yes i know those brackets are wrong.

I remember there being customizable options when installing NGHL. For example, I selected the “simple pickup icons” (or something) option, which really helps me see ammo/weapon/health/armor pickups than if the regular models were used. Perhaps you selected some downscaled version of the weapons when installing? Make sure to check your graphics options in game too.

I have no clue what you’re talking about. Upload the picture to imgur or something and just paste the link here.
Not talking about the world models, I’m talking about the first-person viewmodels for the weapons, my “smg” looks like some form of M16, and my pistol does not look like a glock.
Picture - this is in c1a1c like i said, I just launched the box into the slope on the exit side of the room and it hit the wall and started making my head flip. http://imgur.com/TYdtN13
- Uncheck “Use high-quality models” when installing NGHL.
- That’s just GoldSrc being GoldSrc, nothing unusual.
Where can I get aw_agctf.wad? I wanna play the agtricks map, but can’t because I need the wad file.
