host_framerate isn’t a cmd, it’s a cvar. And it’s changing the game speed. Consequently considered as a cheat.
However you can get out of the tram legitimately with fps_max 5.
Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for.
Also: Is there a consistent way to hit the ladder in the first map of Blast Pit, and is it necessary to kill the 2 enemies right outside the end of On A Rail?
You can walk (not run) off the edge of the ramp after the large elevator doors have fully opened. Just by holding forward and shift you should land on the ladder. However, because it requires the doors to be fully open it is a bit slower than trying an airstrafe method. I find this is the easiest method.
Otherwise, you can use the method in this video here:
Does Half-Life not have a minimum fps, or is it just lower than in, for instance, counter-strike where it’s 20?
4 seems to be the lower limit. I’ve never practically used less than 15 though.
Thank you. Played around with it and it seems like air strafing isn’t too hard after all.
Sorry for all these questions, but I had to ask this one: when I’m doing hp door, and I shoot an smg nade to make the guy go to the door, a lot of the time his body is in the way (even after he’s dead) of me hitting the right spot for the door. And sometimes I’ll catch the door and start gaining health for a second of two, but since I still can’t actually freely move around until after the guard’s model has no collision, the door becomes unstuck and opens up all the way (and no, i’m not loading a save in the same map or anything). How do I properly hp door? This shouldn’t even be a problem, I seemed to have it work well a while ago.
There’s a consistent way for the landing. Position yourself like in quadrazid’s run and once you start falling DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING. As you’re about to exit the tunnel, hit your strafe key to touch the ladder.
Does anyone know a rather comprehensive guide for editing demos in the goldsource engine? Or would you mind stepping me through how to move the camera and see the players thirdperson model, like in this video:
I’ve looked for the past few days and have found nothing useful, except for needing a -demoedit launch option.
I wrote these two guides, but I recommend reading the one on Steam, since it describes the features you want to use.

Hey guy’s. Can i get some help with NGHL. How do i install Blue shift and Opposing Force on to NGHL? I tried useing the GCF files but i cant pick up the suit in blue shift.
I’m not sure about OF, did you get that working?
For BS there is a thing called BS Unlocked, making it a mod to HL rather than a standalone game. Which should work for NGHL.

I thing OF is working. I’ll try it for a full run in a bit. I cant get Blue Shift unlocked to work! I have a GCF file but it wont recognize it…
As far as I can remember, I used BS WON to get BS Unlocked.
link to it?
During a run earlier, right after I got captured and it put me in the trash compactor, the compactor didn’t actually start? Like I went up to grab the crowbar and the walls had not moved at all. I tried reloading a few times and eventually got it to work, but it’s something I’ve never encountered before. Why does that happen, and how can I avoid it in the future?
The yellow area is the trigger who start the press. Might happen that you accidentally missed it?
Enter trigger or start as a tram from above is the only way to proceed.
TheFox: Just download any pirate WON version and try it.
yay wiki material
Is there a way to fix this? It’s a pain when you manage to screw up shortcuts or the healthdoor without having a save from a previous map.
