I have “5” on the Russian language.
There is one problem. With AutoHotKey. This program has a program error and does not accept English letters in binds. I think I need to write about it, if you allow me to write articles.
I’m fine with anyone translating the articles to Russian, but they MUST be translated perfectly. As D4rw1N said, we have a standard on this site that we want to keep universal to all the other sections.
On a side-note, this is strictly an English speaking website, so don’t try to start conversations in ANY other language.
I’d say that the acronyms should be written russian-letter (because that’s how you call the glitch in a chat) and the acronym meaning should be translated to russian, and that’s where the difficulty comes in. For example: “ABHing (Accelerated Back Hopping)” becomes “АБХ (Ускоренная распрыжка… задом? назад?)”
No need to translate the names of the glitches. Nobody is going to call them that, they’ll still use the english names. The translation would only be useful for explanations and how-tos.
And yeah, I agree with you translating the wiki just don’t mess up the English one, I’ll be keeping an eye on you ;D
I can fluently read English, but agree that read in their native language enjoyable. And I think would be correct “Ускоренная распрыжка задом” also “УРЗ”. Fallout 3 style.
Thing is, people will watch our speedruns and will see that we refer to this glitch as ABH, so they’ll have no idea what the Russian URZ thing means. It’s very unlikely that they’ll find anything by searching for URZ too.
