That was simply a quality test of the direct capture source footage. That will be the highest possible quality for the video. The audio isn’t compressed at all, so I should get back some of those megs from that at least. The compression of the video above will be used for the “insane” quality video. Other videos will be quite differently encoded, but I’ll figure out how to jump that hurtle when I get there.
It wouldn’t take me much time to do that, but I kinda like how I have it going for right now. I’m actually in the process of building the final video, so I’ll just stick with what I got. Maybe next project? (A Portal 2 speedrun, which I’d have to think up a catchy name for).
ADDITIONALLY, I finally got my first tattoo today. It is on my left leg, just above my inside ankle. I hope everyone likes it:
I’d add some sort of a velocity gradient towards the end of the animations (except for the portals). The abrupt stop of the text looks just weird if you ask me. Also, I think the sound you hear when the portal is shot comes too early. It feels like the time between the shooting sound and the portal actually being visible in the video is too long. Just my two cents.
This was done on purpose. They are suppose to be shot from a far distance off screen.
Thanks for the suggestions, but Ive already encoded all the different quality versions of the video. Ill will be hopefully releasing them next weekend after I make a commentary video.
Commentary video recorded!!!
I need to encode it (which will take a while), and then I can upload Portal Done Pro to YouTube and the commentary to YouTube.
I will be making a torrent for the different quality versions of Portal Done Pro. I have 4 flavors:
