Since so many people have asked, I’ve written a little guide/tutorial on how to get uncapped bhop in the Steam versions of Blue Shift and Opposing Force:

I will use the WON version because i did all those steps to get an error message.
Even the script without _special didnt work on steam. i will attempt to get that script to work though
If i dont use the won version what i would do is
use the won bunnyhop script if i find the fix
and install the bunnymod for steam and use fps_override 1
EDIT: apparently there is no fix for the bunnyhop script so use an autohotkey script. Why there isn’t a fix? Simple. It says alias name invalid so valve must have removed something in the script. Keep in mind this script does not have _special. I think the cmd commmand in the script was removed, heres the script

Guys common… Really ? Like, Seriously ? Did you even try to turn off the Vsync in your graphics card’s options ?
The vsync caps your fps to 60, just turn it off, this cap is based on your monitor’s Hz, so, 60 here, because D3D is like the worst shit ever.

Adjust sensitivity to your liking. Type pause1 in game.cfg. Put the script in userconfig.cfg. Press mouse2 to unpause.
Press ~ to go to console when you need to make a segment.
To Record, This and This.
Cut out all loading screens.
Suggested Video Editing programs are:
Adobe Premiere
Sony Vegas
VirtualDub
Adobe After Effects

Recommended settings for HLAE:

mirv_movie_export_sound 1
mirv_movie_fps 30
mirv_sample_enable 1 Ignore if you don’t want motion blur)
mirv_sample_sps 600 (Ignore if you don’t want motion blur)
1280x720

Recommended render settings (For the video editing programs)
YouTube 720p with render at maximum bit depth and maximum render quality
You can find that in h264 render settings in adobe premiere, not sure about sony vegas though
For sony vegas just copy these settings here if you can’t find a youtube 720p preset.

Hmm, well sorry can’t help you there. I know how to make 1 tick segments but that won’t help
Also does anyone know a command that turns off the animations for pistol? Kinda like in hl21. In hl21 i dont see gordon “inspecting” his gun. I suspect they turned that animation off, i would like to know how.
So basically, remove all animations for guns except for firing and reloading.

I think they’re removed when you play a NGHL demo in Steam HL, it’s a bit of an unintended side effect, but I’m not sure.

Okay, Well thanks for helping. Probably because the HLAE Converter isn’t perfect. It is true I guess because it happened with my office complex speedrun

I’ve been having a problem bothering me for months and no one I’ve asked have had something similar so I’ll try here.

When I load certain maps in certain mods (most often the startmap of the mod) I get a ctd and a Fatal Error message with “Cache_UnlinkLRU: NULL link”, what’s causing this?

Okay, so after speaking with YaLTeR he reminded me that the reason a bunch of us can run OpFor with NGHL is because of a client.dll that was sent around.

So for anybody still having problems running NGHL w/ OpFor, try replacing your client.dll with this:

I replaced the client.dll in the gearbox folder, and it didn’t work. Then I also replaced the client.dll in the valve folder, and it still didn’t work.

Same problem, crashing as soon as I open the door to the teleporter where you see freeman. I might try just re-installing everything from scratch and see what happens when I have more time.

Yeah, might be a good idea to reinstall and try it again. What version of the game are you using, and are you using it with NGHL or Steam?

I forgot which DLL causes /that/ crash, it might be the server one.
