Yeah you’re right, I guess the problem is everyone else and not you, after getting banned from 2 forums, an IRC chat, and having your threads locked. Again, like I said 2 posts ago, if this was so important and necessary to you and the community, it would/should have been done a long time ago. Currently, complaining that it’s not the way you want it to be doesn’t do anything. If people are banning you from their forums/IRC chats it’s because THEY DON’T CARE ENOUGH TO DO YOUR GRUNTWORK.

Quad, PJC, previously IRC chat done by PJC and people there, Treetoon, and others have already established they support the cause for a good mod. Ya I think we are right, and everyone else, ie you, SDA, is the problem.
if this was so important and necessary to you and the community, it would/should have been done a long time ago.
So that’s your case? ideally yes, would have been early I tried with bunny mod when things were simplier, but versions and complications grew, now it’s time to fix this, because something hasn’t been done yet, obviously isn’t a reason not to do it, let’s be logical and civil here.

I think that SpiderWaffle has not communicated his ideas and intent very well and confused people into thinking that he wants people to follow some rules he made up or whatever, when actually he’s just been throwing around ideas from both sides of each specific argument to discuss, not to imply or state that he agrees with either side. Also got off to a bad start when he implied that me and a few others were dictating things when actually we are both on the same wavelength here. However, I have spoken with SW privately and cleared things up, I’m now backing what him and quad have said.
This is nothing about ‘learning to respect the older player’s opinions’ or anything like that, it’s about doing what’s best for the community so it can expand and grow naturally. I don’t know if my ambitions are as high as SW’s about the number of people that could be running HL, but I do know that there are plenty of people out there struggling to get started, many giving up; I know this because I have people ask me almost everyday via stream chats, Twitch messages etc about how to set up/install the games that I run, not to mention I have to explain and sometimes even argue with people as to why certain changes have been made and what not. It is a waste of time and energy repeating the same process; I know that YaLTeR has to deal with this also, obviously SW and quad have already pointed out they have to as well. There is only so much we can do, and only so many people we can help.
Holding grudges over a giant misunderstanding is not going to help here, though to be fair SW, I do think that in future you’re going to need to be a bit more specific about what you say because a lot of people are misinterpreting your points.
The fact is, the established players are happy with what we have simply because we’ve been able to work it out for ourselves. We already understand the game, it’s many features, settings etc and are willing to share the knowledge, but only a handful of people are able to get hold of that knowledge and even then it usually takes a long time for them to understand it to a good level. I would know, it’s taken me over a year to really understand all this stuff (clients, builds, mods, scripts, settings, commands etc), I’m sure it was a similar case for quad and other players when they were starting out. What I am saying is that not everyone speaks good English, is as computer literate as some of us, knows how to install mods/clients/mix files etc, knows how to script and use config files, knows how to use specific softwares etc. You can argue ‘but there are tutorials for all of this stuff’, but don’t you think it would just be a lot less hassle if it was all in one place, easily accessible and didn’t require reaching out to a hundred different places and people, spending hours getting these things to work?

You are not allowed to come on our forums and mistreat our team members, team members like z1m who’ve actually earned their rightful place to make decisions for the community through hard work and commitment, because you don’t like how things are done anymore. However, even with all that said, you do have a point with many of your suggestions, and plenty other members support them (their vouching for you is the reason I’m not jumping straight to a permanent ban). FURTHERMORE, I seriously do not appreciate you calling my community a cesspool when I warned you not a week ago to (politely) lose the attitude.
I’m issuing a temporary ban. Do not return to these forums if you’re just going to disregard what I, and PJC, have said; if there is something I feel extremely strong about, it’s new members coming into communities and mistreating other members because they feel they can get away with it.
