The glitch is to do with a weird timing pressing of crouch and jump. Once you get the keypresses it’s fine to do scriptless.
I can get skips perfectly fine scriptless, not as fast as scripted ofc.
Mashing ctrl with my pinky is pretty difficult to do fast.
So are you going to do HL2 or not Jared?
I could try HL1… Wouldn’t be the fastest, though.
It depends on the date and if I can use scripts. If I can and if I can, then yes.

I’d probably want to go pretty much in that order, with one of the portal races before portal 2, but things can be shifted around if people who can run the game are not in ideal timezones.
No scripted HL2?
I figure Jared (or xec) really wants to do it and I’d hate to ‘steal’ it from him.
Also noting the fact that I will be doing HL2ep2 and P2coop already as well.

I could do a portal 1 oob run, I’m pretty consistent at all of the tricks and could probably do a run in like 12 minutes. It would be a cool way to show just how broken the game is 
So I’m getting the feeling that the HL2 run would go over better scripted than scriptless?
I’d kind of like there to be some variety in the runs scripted/scriptless wise, simply because I thinking showing off the contrasting strategies used while having someone explain them with maybe a little bit of history of the way they were developed would make for an interesting and entertaining stream. But really I’d rather have the people who want to do runs doing runs they’re comfortable with.

As for HL2, I don’t think my route differs much from a scripted (unlike hl2ep2), save for one or two small collision boosts replaced by a grenade jump.
I see the only way to solve this. Who’ll run HL2.

Well, I was practicing for a Single-Segment scripted back in 2010, but maybe I should hand it over to someone who might have more time to practice/represent us better, whether that’s exe or S. Besides, I think I’m going to be pretty busy in May, I know I will be the 18th-30th.
I could narrate over somebody playing HL2 SS, explaining why they do certain things, if they would want me to.
Or a skype call in the background with everyone. That’d be fun (implying it was allowed)
so I think hl2 will be raced, if that’s okay. Otherwise, feel free to comment the stuff I’m doing

Ok so I’ve decided on the date. It will be on May 25th. What times the runs are at will be determined later based on everyone’s availability that day, but I’m super excited to finally have this down to final sign ups and scheduling.
People have said before in this thread, but for the sake of organization everyone who wants to sign up for something can reply to this post quoting the runs they’d like to do.

Half Life 2 (scriptless would be preferred but scripted can work too)
HL2 Episode 2 (scripted)
Portal 1 no oob(this is going to be a couple races spread out over the show, anyone can join but we’d want at least a couple POVs and some commentary from people who can explain the chambers)
Portal 2 Co-op (obviously a pair of people)
As for the idea of one big skype call the whole time, that would be fantastic. Making it feel as much like everyone just hanging out, having fun and running games is something we strive for. Maybe to keep things from getting too crazy we’d have groups come in for blocks (a couple people who do commentary for the hl1 games, then a couple different people who do HL2 etc etc etc) so that everyone gets a chance to be on without there being 8 people talking over each other.
We love the idea of races and would be open to turning anything in the show into a race, so if someone beat you to signing up to something, don’t fret, let us know what you want to play and we’ll do our best to let everyone in on the fun.
I’m pretty sure I am not good enough to claim any of those runs, but if anything is left out (nobody claims it, exemple: Blue shift) I might want to give it a try.
I can participate in a commentary for every run except for episode 2 and portal 2, if you need any more people to explain stuff.
