Silly Typical, wrong glitch. I haven’t gotten the button save glitch to work yet. It confuses me…

I found it easiest to do by standing on the middle of the button, then strafing off (dunno why, this probably makes no difference, but it just felt easier to me) and saving as soon as you pressed a movement key. Reload. Rinse and repeat. Eventually you’ll manage to save at the point where you move off the button, which will result in it working.

mp_coop_catapult_2 is possible, too. That should make 75%.

mp_coop_fling_3 is possible with the save button glitch.

mp_coop_fling_crushers. Managed to find a skip to make it soloable. :smiley:

Ooh, didn’t read that at first. As I’m kinda making people take my word on the maps I posted I’m gonna take your word on it too, but it’d be nice to have a video or route explanation so I can estimate the difficulty of it.

Also, Inexistence just told me my route for mp_coop_tbeam_polarity3 is possible, so that makes 32! Or so.

I basically managed to solo mp_coop_paint_come_along. I used host_timescale for the first trick, but it should be possible without it.
Basically jumping from the first patch of blue gel gets you just enough height to press the second switch.
After that you can saveglitch the button to get the elevator down, and jump from the second patch of blue gel to place a portal on the portalsurface opposite the exit.

I hope that explanation is enough, since I probably won’t be able to put a nice video of this up ^^

Alright, I just added a list of all maps that can’t be done and a list (well, just two on there really) of maps I simply don’t count.

mp_coop_start
The one map that would really blow my mind if it can be done is this, the calibration course. Although it’s possible to portal bump to the other side in the room after you get the gun (portal up to the ledge) and get quite far with button glitching and stuff, I haven’t been able to get past the room with the portal gun yet (as a portal gun needs to be grabbed on both sides to trigger the doors), the room with the glass wall blocking blue’s path (though if you could get enough height you could shoot over it) and the room where blue needs to press a button to give orange a cube. I simply can’t get to the cube fast enough.

mp_coop_infinifling_train
This might be possible using Paraxade’s trick, but we’d need to find a way to get there without touching the fizzler.

mp_coop_laser_2
The only part preventing us from soloing this is the first part, with the two laser relays. The second part is completely possible, in a variety of ways even. Unfortunately the relay delay glitch often used in single player doesn’t seem to work here. Although it might be possible to save glitch, just like the buttons, these relays too.

mp_coop_rat_maze
You can get really far in this one, using the button glitch and peek-a-portal. I managed to get a portal on the wall behind the buttons and one on the wall below the cube, but I simply can’t find a way to grab the cube. Although if anyone can’t do the first bit but can get the cube from there, this would be possible.

Haha! Without editing, as I am awesome enough to keep this thread open in another tab whilst typing and hit F5 occasionally, that route sounds very, very plausible. So much in fact, I’m gonna give it a try. Hopefully this’ll put us at 34.
Edit: Alright, tried it. Couldn’t pull it off. Neither pressing the button nor the shot. Although I believe the shot to be possible, it’s an incredibly precise angle from which you have to shoot, and you have to find it mid-air, so I don’t think anyone can do it without severely lowering host_timescale. And pressing the button… I dunno, I really can’t tell. But you don’t need to glitch the button for shooting the portal onto the wall opposite the exit. In fact, lowering the lift worked against me there.

the portal shot is not that hard, that part I’ve actually done without slowmo. Jumping partly over the lowered lift seems to improve the angle, sometimes you can actually see the surface!
Anyway I put together 2 quick demos with timescale assistance to proof that I’m not crazy ^^

Updated the OP with links to the first 3 modified maps.

Changes are:
-spawn at the bottom of one of the tube things with a full portalgun
-doors that require 2 people standing there to open are already opened (doors that need a button press aren’t)
-autosave trigger in the area between test chambers
-exit door is open (unless button press needed)
-stepping into either of the disassembly tubes will change the level

Nice work Cameron, I’ll give them a go now. Also, feel free to edit the first post to your liking, I guess the whole story isn’t really necessary anymore and it’d be nicer to have a little explanation of this thread here.

Jaso: Thanks for the demos, but neither of them works. Both give me a “failed to read demo header” error.

Cameron: Great work, except the level transition from catapult_2 to catapult_wall_intro didn’t seem to work (failed to find landmark). It might be a good idea to modify the maps we can’t do yet as well, to make it easier for people to test them. Apart from that, I’ll see if I can fix something to start/download this map pack in a fancier fashion.

hmm, they work for me… I have Portal 2 on autoupdating, so could that be a reason?
Anyway, since it’s apparantly not that easy to replicate I decided to make a video, and for that redid the tricks without using host_timescale. So mp_coop_paint_come_along is really soloable. I’ll post the video as soon as I have it encoded.
