It Really Is That Time

Ah, thanks for clearing this up.

So HQ is 1080p @30fps. I expected something like 720p @60fps. Does the IQ version have full 60fps?

edit: No web-seeders for IQ at the moment? ;_; nevermind

IQ is 1080p 60fps

You can download it from my site if you’re not doing that yet:
http://dl.dwahmov.tv/HalfLife2_12751_IQ.mp4

I reencoded the IQ version to 720p 60fps.
For those who prefer that too, I used this x264 command:

x264 --crf 17 --preset slow --partitions all --vf resize:1280,720,method=lanczos -o "Half-Life 2 - DWaHMoV 12751 720p 60fps video.mkv" "HalfLife2_12751_IQ.mp4"

Final video file size is almost the same as the 1080p 30fps HQ version.

And here is the audio commentary track for those who want to download it:

What happened to all the bloopers and outtakes?

Here it is, 2 years late:

Half Life 2: DWaHMoV vs. Done Quick Comparison

I might do something with those bloopers eventually, if that’s okay with admins.

I can’t wait to see the sub-1 hour run compared to dwahmov (and eventually dqer compared to dwah-ermov)

Bloopers video not happening is partially on me, I really wanted to do it and said I would but like many times before… I just never came around to do it because of work and/or laziness.

Also thanks for the comparison video BitRain, very interesting watch.

I would still be interested. As a stopgap, you could make the demos and the engine used for the run public.

It is public,

I have all the bloopers recorded and I will probably make something eventually, it seemed to spark some interest in the Skype group. But it is not my top priority.

I didn’t know about that tool, thank you. I’d love to see whatever else came out of developing that run; considering how awesome the run was, I figure the highlights and lowlights are probably pretty good as well.
