IRL Countries and languages

There’s a finnish speaking minority in Sweden.

Might also be the other way around. I do not know.

I was born in Ireland.

wait, someone has been updating the top post, or many people, there is much more information than last time, and the “last edit” thing says it’s me at a time I was at school, I have no problem with you people editing it (probably admins) but could you make a post to say what you edited cause it will become confusing very quickly.

Ain’t it obvious what has been edited? People have been added to the list.

well, I was editing it too by adding people that told me info in the posts, but I just noticed there was some additions that werent made by me, nor that came from posts

wait, someone added countries and languages to the countries and languages thread? what a bastard.

Quick! Someone call the cyber police!

I’m not saying it’s bad… I’m just wondering who is it

-.-

It’s an admin or moderator with topic edit clearance.

The consequences will never be the same!

Well there are foreign minorities in like most countries in the world, didn’t really see how that was relevant.

Well, sure there is a Finnish-speaking minority in Sweden, but compared to the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland it’s nothing significant. Over there they have entire cities where Swedish is the most commonly spoken language.

I guess you could also technically live in Sweden and speak sami, though I guess you wouldn’t really consider yourself a swede then.

There’s no need to debate if a country has minority of any languages or not, let’s stick to the original idea please. You tell country and language so nobody needs to guess or debate about it.

I thought it was a fun and interesting discussion on the topic of countries and languages.

it was not. stay on the topic. please.

I consider myself a minority. I deserve recompense.

So do I.

Anyone else here for whom English is only a tertiary language?

Sweden/Swedish. En go’ gubbe!

I’m the son of finnish immigrants though, so my blood is finnish. This used to be a huge problem every time there was an hockey tournament 'cause I didn’t know what team to cheer on - today I just cheer on the winner… it’s easier that way.
