Fucking finally we’re moving on to next segment after 30 days on the Barney-segment. About 7.5s faster than SW on that segment alone. And with an additional objectboost up the staircase c1a2b will be about 11s faster.
Unfortunately I’m going on vacation tomorrow for four weeks. So the project will be on hold i guess.
Can’t help but fear you might find timesavers for already finished segments at some point and start redoing segments Anyway, I was wondering if you and/or possibly the other folks involved with this run could stream some of your attempts on the sourceruns stream. I’d sure tune in for that. Either way, can’t wait to see this thing!
czyfst, We actually changed our route for Blast Pit drastically since the run was started. But we haven’t redone anything, yet… ;p
I’m having big lag problems with streaming, so don’t count on me. But I’m sure coolkid would stream if he ever attempts some more segments. At least on his channel (twitch/dabigboi). I could talk to some others too, but idk, seems like lot of hassle. Im not a person who enjoy streams.
Fabrizio, Since we have no armor at that place, the boost would cost about 50hp.
50hp to save 5s is not even near worth it in this scenario unfortunately.

When I see moves THAT awesome for the first part of the game, I can’t help but drool over what the infinite health segments will be. Now that I have also seen some of those tricks, I want to see the speedrun so bad ;D
Also, How did you make the hud show the real health instead of the 0-255 values?

If you plan on getting the exact amount of health to end up with 1 hp, then you should include real value hud to show how precise the planning is. If you plan on getting a lot more (like in the ss) then I think it would be better to keep the old display (0-255). Since it doesn’t make any difference in gameplay, my suggestion is purely for style purpose, because it would be pretty weird to end up with a lot of hp (like 500), so it would look better as 245. If you do end with very little hp, people could still think you got some “hp packs” and are not really at this value, making all this planning pointless.

The four digit hud makes most sense and is interesting to watch, while the 255 hud doesnt matter to the viewer at all.
We’ll spend time in the door for about 100hp extra (.1s) This way we dont have to do ~50 boosts hp-perfect. Which will save countless hours of retries.
And yes, people will whine and bitch about it either way.
