Well, last few maps you’ve been averaging around 33% improvement. (Forget about Freeman -> Xen), so with that as a base you should get around 40 seconds compared to Spider Waffle’s 65 seconds.
But Interloper is far more open with more shortcuts than say, Lamba Complex, so I reckon you’ll get faster than that.
Just heard about the sub 22 run this week while I was watching the old SW run and got excited instantly… Can’t wait to see this run and also you guys should stream on twitch.tv and speedrunslive.com… that would be awesome !! HYPEEE

Sometimes when I read this topic I go straight to watching SW’s run again, or quad’s SS run, and I try to imagine how they can do every part so much faster. It’s gonna be fun to see if I guessed something right in the end, but I think I’m just way too nab to actually come up with anything substantial enough.
Either way it looks as though the run is wrapping up smoothly. It kinda goes against my own feelings when I say this, but I think it would be better if you guys made an explanation video before releasing the final run, and then releasing them both together at the same time. Otherwise I feel like you may end up like the others did with DWaHMoV, since things tend to stagnate when you get a feeling of being “done”. But at the same time I guess making such a detailed video takes pretty long, especially if you’re already sick of the game from hoyling too much, so it wouldn’t bother me if it came out later either.
Anyway, nice progress. As for Interloper time, I’m going with 33s

As for explanation video. I’m planning to release them together as you’re saying. If it’ll play out that way remains to see. First I will fix the actual run. I think I’ll be able to have the HUD in a separate layer so I can include speed and other stats in the commentary without additional capturing. So I’ll have the run lossless, with high framerate and with a HUD layer ready to edit the commentary. While I do that I’ll have someone to mix in the music for the original video. Hopefully have people to make intro/outro as well.
If anyone got ideas or wanna help with intro/outro you’re very welcome!

I've just been trying it out again, and I've noticed that what Burban was saying was the case. My apologies :blush . When I found this I'd been using noclip and didn't know that entering the button caused it to activate. Once again, I apologise. And thanks to Burban for helping me realise what I had been doing.
Most likely noclip since is a trigger inside that activates the fire on touch. There is also a chance that they had a save with the global conditions activated without realizing.
If it really would be possible to legitimately clip through walls, the whole HL speedrunning world would change anyway since this obviously isn’t the only shortcut you could make.
Can’t wait to see this be done. I’ll get some candies when it’s uploaded on Youtube. For all you guys. (KOSOR CANDY BAR)
That blast pit phenomenon I’ve wondered about too a lot, Zhouy I believe first reported that something similar happened to him, running up to the scientist and spamming use right away when the arm was grabbing him.
Many people, including myself, tried to reproduce it to no avail. I remember telling Rofi about it too when he did more speedrunning, and soon after he thought he did, then we watched his demo and noticed he had toggled noclip on accident.
Then I see this person on another forum reported the same thing, mistaken noclip, way back in 2005, and rofi being an experienced player even was fooled by noclip. So I’m chalking up all the reports to this being noclip. There’s really no known way anything else could happen at all, it would be a completely broken set HL glitches as we know it that make no sense.

It means that glitch still undiscovered, unsolved and not registered by reliable source. The probability of its existence and opening is small, but there are. Ever.

This is known by people, it’s a simple mapping error, the developers probably left a hole in the map and you can fall trough it. It doesn’t save any time, it’s just pointless.
I got Zhouy on facebook, he’s doing just fine. Just not much into gaming anymore. But he’s still looking forward to this run ofc ;>
I find this BP hole into the void very interesting. This is one of the few maps where you don’t get stuck out of bounds. It’s probably because of some compiling glitch. But as far as I know, you can’t successfully compile a map with a leak. So I don’t know how this is possible since the map performance and visuals is just fine.
I’ve gone through all of the maps and those are the only OoB movable ones:

These OoB movable maps could have potential for great tricks and shortcuts. But you can’t keep weapons from triggerdelays around them. So I haven’t found anything useful. It’s rare to find the leak like at c1a4d(the one in video) which maybe isnt big enough for Gordon anyway. So triggerdelay is pretty much the only way to get OoB.
