It’s because the buttons are triggered by a … trigger above the cube.
This trigger checks for all sorts of elements and even cubes that are getting fizzlered.
This is not new at all.

No, you are wrong.
Just make a map in Hammer with a cube and a button, and run it on Portal, it will work.

Yes, precisely. My point was that not only is it something that can’t physically happen in the original maps in the game, but it’s not common in community map design. I just thought it was something people should know about in any other case in which it could improve a route for a mod or something.
