I was just throwing it out there as a sugestion. I just wanted the speedrun look as good as it could be. If he already started working with the normal textures, then its obvious for him to just stick with those. They are fine anyway.

Hi, I have been lurking here too. Anyways…Like that one guy said before, doing things with the cinematic mod is probably a good idea. Just don’t start yet as their current version (2.18) has some uglies… namely Dr. Mossman is really messed up.On a similar note, their “cinematic” mod allows you to replace the music with some of their own stuff that sounds more… cinematic. Basicly it’s more classical. After having listened to the HL2 soundtrack and played the game a few times, I have to admit that the cinematic mod is an imporement to the musical crap in the actual game.

… oh yeah. As a person with a wide screen monitor and having used hl2’s widescreen capabilites, should we try to capture it in widescreen or just plain 4:3?

I reckon wide screen. But after thinking about it, I don’t think we should add any effects or any mods. I would like to see the game as we played it. (obviously not on low settings etc :P)

-Original textures and music-Widescreen. You see more, cause the view is expanded from the sides, not squished from the bottom.-At the beginning of each map, have a small watermark showing the runner and time. It should be in a style similar to FollowFreemanDQ, but go away after a few seconds like in the original Ravenholm video that LightningX did.-Both intros, HL2 and ours.

not really 100% up to us, the main aim of it was just to see what people would like. jrb can see what people think on here, and listen / ignore it lol.

i really think a subtitle would be nice for either version because it can be toggled on/off… the subtitle should contain info about current runner/map time/overall time or whatever you want :slight_smile:
