Fastest non-abh/afh method of movement

I did some testing.

EDIT: realised that ticks aren’t accurate between demos, so I redid it and tested them all in the same demo.

Jumping:

At 129, -5108.50
At 164, -4991.14
In 35 ticks, 117.36

Walking:

At 300, -4640.65
At 335, -4561.94
In 35 ticks, 78.71

Jumping Continuously:

At 454, -4295.46
At 542, -4057.81
In 70 ticks, 237.65
In 35 ticks, 118.83

Sprinting:

At 816, -3122.01
At 851, -2950.57
In 35 ticks, 171.44

Sprint Jumping:

At 1113, -1853.63
At 1183, -1524.75
In 70 ticks, 328.88
In 35 ticks, 164.44

Sprint, jump, let go of sprint:

At 1524, -35.03
At 1559, 109.11
In 35 ticks, 144.14

So the fastest method of movement is just sprinting it seems. Next fastest is holding sprint constantly while jumping, then you go to sprint, jump, let go of sprint. I’ve probably incorrectly done these, but I figured I might as well put them somewhere.

Wall strafing no sprinting? If it’s anything like wall strafing in previous HL games it will probably be quicker.

Oh yeah, wallstrafing.

Bah. 53 degrees and you’re sorted. Can’t be arsed testing EVERYTHING again due to lame ticks.

Willlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll not look into it. Mostly because if we find it works in Ep1 I’ll never forgive myself. Hopefully that will give someone an insentive. :stuck_out_tongue:
