Eh, ABH has never worked in blamod. It’s kind of the point of the entire mod.
Wait…you mean to tell me that we have a speedrunning toolbox, without a speedrunning tool? Oh well, I still have vanilla.
ABH and Forward BHop are mutually exclusive as ABH’s underlying code was designed to rid FwBhop.
You’d need an entire different bhop-code to make both ABH and FwBhop work at the same time.
Everyone willing to program that, raise their hand.
I wish I could code…
Don’t we all?
My friend has coded a mod in which you can switch between BHop and ABH using a CVar…
Also if I understand it right, it is very easy to modify the code to allow both ABH and BHop at the same time…
Oh boy…
Foust…I have a blank check I’m willing to mail to you if you’re able to implement that.
How about gib flying?
make props fly faster, so they can keep up with ABHing
Gib flying is, I kid you not, a one line fix. I need to track down the code parts again which prevent bunnyhopping, but if memory serves me right that too was a matter of just removing a few checks here and there. Silly as I am I just recently threw away the notes I took in the past to keep track of the changes I made in the source. Anyway, at the very least I’ll add a cvar that lets you decide which movement physics you want to use if I can’t get both to work simulatenously.
A CVAR to switch between Bunnyhopping and ABHing is more than enough!
The only problem with gib flying is that gibs are few and far between in some of the later levels because its a source game, the only way to get gibs is to use barnacles, and even then, I don’t remember alot of gibs in any of the levels besides Ravenholm.
All this about switching between ABH and bunnyhop with a simple cvar and gib flying… if this happens there is no way I’m still gonna be using the old engine.
Do you know what gib flying is, cause I’m not sure you do
^
Gib flying is when you use pieces of a broken prop to fly, and ever since Ep1 (I think), gibs no longer collide with the player.
Also, exec, I think that’s engine related, as it has to do with Havok’s physic engine integrated inside of Source, which is untouchable by modders to my knowledge.
Oh, and if we could bring back pistol charging, that’d be fab as shit.
This sounds like the ultimate speedrunning mod, all these ideas would possibly make sub 60 minutes possible, with ABH and props flying fast enough to keep up with you, bhop when it would be faster, gib flying, pistol charging, good god…
Yeah, but it wouldn’t be anywhere close to legal. Still though, blamod is fun as shit when it comes to a speedrunning sandbox mod, I literally play it every other day or so.
