I want tips on Getting Started with Source Engine Speedrunning

Hey everyone,

I am pretty new to Source engine speedrunning & want advice on the best way to start. I have seen some insane runs on YouTube & I want to learn the mechanics and tricks that make them possible.

What are the best games to start speedrunning in the Source engine?
Are there beginner-friendly guides or tutorials you’d suggest?
What are the key movement techniques I should focus on first?
Any useful console commands or scripts that make learning easier?

I have been messing around in Half-Life 2 but I feel such as I am barely scratching the surface. Also, I started a [MongoDB Course](https://www.igmguru.com/big-data/mongodb-training) & want to know if anyone has ever used databases in the context of speedrunning, maybe for tracking stats or run analytics? Also i have check this [Optimizing Load Times in Source Engine Speedruns](https://forums.sourceruns.org/t/optimizing-load-times-in-source-engine-speedruns/4395) witch is good still need advice.

I want to hear any tips

Thank you…🙂
