Half-Life segmented in 20 minutes 41 seconds

It’s a neat trick. But the PC version works different unfortunately. You gotta be inside the trigger_transition, the light blue area, in order to get transferred to next map.

I had it planned to make the boost before the loading. But it’s not possible to make it that much before like you showed here.

Maybe a little triggerdelay can help so that you can do that additional boost out of the wall?

It will make you spawn in the next map with broken weapons.

Quad told me that some maps work.

That trigger delay would probably work. But I could simply make an ARN boost off the wall and switch to handgrenade, then boost with handgrenade asap on the interloper map.
Question is if its worth it. The distance is short, about 700u. Using additional explosives would only save about .1s. Taking that extra health would also cost about .1s.
There is places where those explosives saves more time.

Sometimes I open up the time sheet and just look at the times, and try to imagine the routes and tricks you must do to get such incredible times. I can’t wait until the run is complete, and I can see the final video, but I must say just watching the times and speculating is pretty good in and of itself.

At the pace you’re going right now, when do you think the run could be finished? Seeing as you’ve been at it since June 2012, do you think you might be able to finish it this year? I don’t mean to push it, I’m just really, really anxious to see it.

Encouraging to hear, igge 8). And I also encourage everyone to watch the old 30 minute speedrun and imagine ~8 minutes shaved off. It’s quite mind blowing even for me.

There is a few parts left that could be troublesome and lengthy. Which is the scientist here in QE and the health door map. Otherwise there shouldn’t be any major holdbacks. Once health door is reached the segments gets shorter and little easier.

Seven segments a week seems to be reasonable. Lets estimate 300 segments in total. With that prediction the run will be completed around September. Probably a month with just video work as well as a commentary. We actually discussed to put “Coming this winter” in the teaser. So that’s my analysis right now.

Speaking of the segment count. We’ve only made 18 segments more than SW had up to this point. So 300 in total might be excessive. 20-30 segments will just be a single frame long too. They’re barely worth to even count as a segment.

You got my attention

Released this year? That’s good to hear! It might appear insincere, rhyming in here, but that’s really good news, just so we’re clear.

… Sorry, I’m just really bored over here.

2013 is the year of HL(2) runs

8 minutes saved… Can’t even imagine how many times I will watch the run

Time for an update? :>

Soon enough, maybe this weekend : >

so?

The “Map total” in cell U 128 (20.87) is incorrect. The “New time” in D 49 (15.94) is correct, though.

Thanks, fixed.

So Residue Proceeding went well and the total save at that point went up to over 5 minutes as expected, 5:05 to be exact.

Questionable Ethics had a hold up with the scientist that I feared, but I got it working after some struggle. And congratulations to YaLTeR who made his first segment for the run by escorting the scientist the last part to the scanner.

Finally I’ve entered Surface Tension. A very exciting chapter since about every map have got a new style, some pretty extraordinary. This also makes it really fun to work on the segments so I finished several maps the past weekend. The save counter is already up to a half minute. And I expect it to be 85 seconds once the whole chapter is completed.

After a revision of the times, the new estimated time went down to 21:20.

insane)

I’m not sure HL21 has the same ring to it as HL22…

But holy cranberries!

FUCK YEAH! Insane! Keep up the good work, man.

Cranberries it is, reached 6 minutes saved.
