Half-Life (Ps2) speedruns by Superfrizzio

Everyone shut up. This is a thread for a kind of run that a member is aiming to make. Definitely in future have a more substantial first post that includes something to show about it, but there’s no reason not to post a run he’s working on.

Nobody can bitch about anybody not finishing runs while the ep2 segmented is still in progress.

Also, I think those forums should have a like feature for posts like this one ^

Then everything would be a popularity contest. But seriously, no one here has the right to tell anyone they don’t can’t make a run. Though, I will say I, personally, am tired of seeing thousands of threads from you guys, so I just don’t read this board anymore. It’d be nice, for everyone, if you made one thread for the ps2 runs, like quad has done with runs, and updated that.

Right, I’ll do that now, can an admin move my hazard course topic and this one into my new topic?

I agree that this first post was pretty useless. It had been done before and wasn’t much to discuss or comment on the announcement.

Centaur1ums idea is great, I’ll merge the PS2 topics. Be prepared for a mess though since the posts will get sorted by date.

Yes, Half-Life without jumping is possible. We stopped at Lambda Core because we already had done all the no-jump unique tricks. Continuing from here would just be repeating the same tricks again, but at a slow phase since its no jumping, obviously. So it would simply not be very entertaining relative to the work needed. Don’t forget that this was a cooperation between me and coolkid, not me alone.
I did the same thing for Opposing Force, recording the no-jump unique stuff only.
I haven’t been able to complete Blue Shift without jumping though. Cant get passed the area with two cranes.

Kaito about the 100%, Dont you think its about time to consider the alternative style to kill the crab that I posted some time ago? Grab battery in locker after suit, then after the cascade the locker is refilled with two(!) batteries, then there’s a battery at the bottom of the long elevator too. Making it four in total.
It would make the crab kill simple, and make the run even more special for the strange battery routes.

Oh yeah, I don’t want to be the one keeping people from doing what they want. I just gave him a recommendation that this might not turn out the way he’d like it to turn out.

Lol

Very well done!

Thanks!

I won’t turn this topic into 100% talk, so I’ll just answer on the right topic.

I like this new way for ps2, some time ago I thought ps2 should have been a board, but since there is so few people playing ps2, and since it’s interesting even for pc players (at least for me) I think this is the best move. good luck if you really want to do this.

Skipping the bridge at unforeseen consequences without headcrabs (and without jumps)

I stopped the no-jump run since it’s impossible skip Power Up with the tripmines on Ps2 and if I make a grenade-boost I die in the electric water after 3-4 seconds in On A Rail.
Now I’m working on a SS

You cant stand on them, or why is it impossible?

If you touch a tripmine it will explode as I showed in my differences video

Have you tried doing the intended solution?

Getting the tram and break the barrier?

Could also use this tram to avoid the electric water then, so can even do a grenade jump.

Yes, but it cost too much time…

Hah, how ironic.

Invalid motive, all no-jump tricks takes extra time. You abandon the no-jump speedrun because you cant get by the obstacle you’re used to jump over? Find another way to get by it then, that’s what no-jump speedruns is about.

I can’t get many obstacles like the ones at 16:00 and 17:16 (refer to my segmented speedrun)… also with grenade-boost

Is there no way around them?

Nope unfortunately
