For anyone looking for hlunp.exe for decrypting steam files:
hlunp.zip (67.4 KB)
Thanks for providing the files.
This hlunp program seems to differ from the one posted previously. Did it fix the aforementioned corruptions?
The affected files seem to have sizes very close to significant bit boundaries. I can only assume that there is some kind of counting bug in the code which then neglects to decrypt the very last chunk. I wish I had the source.
Itβs been a long time since the last post, but as this thread is one of the very very few references on the Internet to the hlunp.exe program, I want to post this here.
I patched the old hlunp.exe program to fix the corruptions that affect a very small amount of the files extracted by the program. If anyone is still messing with the original DVD, or any other old releases of Half-Life 2, this could be very useful.

Inside the zip file there is a readme with details about the patch. I tested it with my October 2004 original Half-Life 2 Spanish DVD, and all the files were correctly extracted. With the unpatched version on hlunp.exe there were 71 corrupted files.
